Stanozolol, also known as Winstrol, is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone. It was the first to be manufactured in the USA in 1962, in medicine it was used in the treatment of allergic eczema, venous insufficiency, it also helps blood fibrinolysis, sometimes it was also used in the treatment of skin ulcers. Later, it was also used to treat postmenopausal and senile osteoporosis. Today, Winstrol is used primarily for veterinary purposes. And of course, it is also an unofficially highly effective anabolic steroid for athletes who want to gain quality muscle mass without unnecessary water retention. In oral form, Stanozolol is usually called Winstrol for injection. The drug is 17-alkylated, i.e. the active substance is not broken down by the liver but travels to the body, so it can also be given in tablet form. An interesting fact is the use of winstrol, for example, in horse racing.
Compared to testosterone, for example, stanozolol has a higher ratio of anabolic and androgenic activity. The big advantage is that as one of the few steroids it is not flavored, i.e. there is no risk of side effects caused by elevated estrogen levels, such as excessive water retention or breast growth.
